Skylight supervisors

Peter Tia

Peter is a member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors and is a Victim Support approved counsellor. He has a special interest in working with men to stop violence and is a registered Stopping Violence Facilitator.

Experience and Interests: Guidance counselling, supporting and facilitating children and young people affected by change, loss and grief, and mental illness, working with men in stopping violence programmes; and providing cultural clinical supervision.

Qualifications: Diploma in Guidance Counselling, Diploma in Youth Services, Certificate in CPS, Certificate of Clinical Supervision. Peter is currently studying towards his degree in psychotherapy, specialising in Transactional Analysis.

Janet Robertson

Janet is a member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors and works at Skylight as a cousnellor and facilitator with all ages - individuals, families and groups.

Experience and Interests: grief, loss, trauma; child development;parenting; anxiety and stress management; depression and relationship issues. Janet's uses a systems approach and focuses on a client's strengths as she encourages them to tackle tough issues.

Qualifications: Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling from Massey University, and Professional Supervision for Non-Governmental organistaions at Massey University's School of Health and Social services.
