The pain of grief is one we all know, at some point in our lives. Whether we have lost a loved one, faced a traumatic situation, or gone through a period of significant change, grief inevitably becomes part of that experience.
Our children and young people often don't have life experience or wisdom to draw from, which can make tough times even rougher.
It can be hard to know exactly how it feels for teenagers when they deal with tough times.
So here are a few of their stories, in their words.
Money raised will go to help children and young people through tough times. So please consider making a gift to help children and young people just like Meg, Tim and Leanne.
Another way to support Skylight is by participating in events such as the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge, New York Marathon, running and sporting events or creating your own. An easy way to get sponsors to support your event for Skylight is through Fundraise Online. Skylight is a registered charity on this site and you can set up your own individual page by going to their website. Carolyn O'Fallon took part in the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge in November and raised $4,244.80 or Skylight. This was a really increadible effort and will make a huge difference to the lives of many of the people we help!
Helping Skylight is so easy to do. If you would like to discuss how you could help us in our work, then get in touch with our Funding Development Manager, Sonja Deely. Call 0800 299 100 or email fundraising@skylight-trust.org.nz.
In addition to generously donating one of their Everpure water purifiers to Skylight, MicroNZ have put together a fantastic offer for people who are interested in cleaning up their drinking water and supporting Skylight at the same time. For each kit sold via Skylight MicroNZ will donate $50 for the $199 kits and $100 for the $299 kit See Offer.
