Support groups

Our support groups help children, young people and adults to better understand and express their experience of grief in a supportive, practical and interactive environment.

Groups are run throughout the year in the Wellington region – Newtown, Porirua and Lower Hutt. We also provide support group services at external venues on request. All groups:

  • are welcoming, inclusive and supportive
  • are professionally led
  • involve activities tailored to the group's participants
  • are limited to small numbers
  • maximise individualised attention
  • provide support for parents and carers as well (in children’s programmes).
