Our support groups help young people aged 6-12 years old to understand and express their experiences in a supportive, practical and interactive environment.
The support groups are limited in the number of attendees to maximise individual attention. Six children are needed for each group to go ahead. We also provide support for parents and carers alongside the children’s programme.
All the groups aim to build resilience by normalising the child/children's experiences, their responses to them, and processing feelings and learning coping strategies, for when they are faced with challenging situations.
Examples of groups we run
Family Change - for children experiencing family break up.
Bereavement - for children who have lost a loved one.
Sharing the Journey - for children with a family member with a mental health issue and or addiction.
Thumbs Up - for children with learning difficulties.
Along the track - this course is for children aged 6 - 12 years old, and their brothers and sisters or cousins, who have witnessed and/or experienced domestic violence.
