In partnership with Te Whatu Ora and Victoria University, we are delighted to launch and highlight the new site, as the programme celebrates its 25th year.

Visit www.travellers.org.nz to view the refreshed look and feel and have a proper first look at Travellers 2.0 which is now being rolled out to schools throughout the motu.

We are really proud of it, so do have a click around and send us your feedback.

Travellers is a small-group wellbeing programme delivered in New Zealand schools, primarily aimed at Year 9 students as they navigate the transition into secondary school. Delivered by Skylight Trust, it is grounded in Te Whare Tapa Whā and funded by Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora, in partnership with Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington.

The programme begins with a confidential 15-minute wellbeing survey completed by the whole Year 9 cohort, giving schools a clear picture of how each student is really doing — including those who might otherwise go unnoticed. This is followed by a 10-week small-group programme of 8–10 students, run by two trained school staff for 90 minutes a week during school hours, drawing on practical tools with nervous-system-informed practice with whakataukī at the heart of every session.

Travellers has been supporting young people across Aotearoa for 25 years. For more information about Travellers or Skylight programmes visit https://www.skylight.org.nz/
